Hardwood or Carpet?

The trend today is toward hardwood flooring. Wall-to-wall carpeting is certainly a fine solution for some, but for those who want to upgrade, we can remove the wall-to-wall and install wood flooring on top of your current sub-floor. There are many styles and colors to choose from, many of which can be installed “pre-finished” so there’s no dusty floor sanding or noxious fumes of stains and finishing compounds to put up with.

And what about carpeting? Well, today’s trend is toward genuine, hand-knotted Oriental rugs or the much less-expensive machine-made versions of similar patterns. Either way, your floors will look modern, and, should some future buyer decide that he or she prefers wall-to-wall—no problem.

Trim Transforms a Room

As for trim, well trim—crown molding, chair rails, baseboard, windowsills and the like—can transform a very plain, ordinary room into a masterpiece. Certainly, we will install any quality of trim work you want. But we will also advise you to pay for the higher quality trim work available from genuine lumberyards--not the stuff offered by the big-box home improvement centers.
